Corrections and clarifications
While we really hope we don’t have to publish many of these, we will keep a permanent record of them.
It’s important in the interest of providing accurate information and in gaining the trust of you, our reader.
Mistakes happen–sometimes because the writer has been provided inaccurate information and sometimes the writer just messes up.
For a journalist, making a mistake and publishing a correction is like a hockey player who scores on his own net.
It’s terribly embarrassing, but you learn from your mistakes–and just hope it doesn’t cost you the Stanley Cup or the Pulitzer Prize.
