The Great Exchange
Canada is a pretty big place and in this great nation, there are millions who have never, ever been on a ranch or a farm.
And it’s time we changed all that.
The Badger will be bringing a latte-slugging, Oxford-wearing urbanite to the Southwest. The lucky candidate will come just in time for branding, some late spring calving and maybe even a little fencing.
They’ll learn all about the Southwest, Fort Walsh, rodeo and the freedom and peace that comes with our rolling hills and endless skies. Most of all, they’re going to learn why that Canadian Beef stamp is so important in our collective history and for our nation’s future.
In exchange, we will send one cowboy or girl to the city to work for a week – it’s only fair. While there, they’ll stay at a skyscraping hotel and they’ll be joining the rat race, one city job at a time.
Jobs like serving lunch at a vegetarian cafe and giving art gallery tours are just all in a day’s work.
There will be video coverage of the exchange – both here and in Ontario – and The Badger is working with a news media partner in Ottawa to expose hundreds of thousands of curious urbanites to the lifestyle and beauty of the Southwest!
Oh, yeah. We’re doing it all over again at harvest time. Hurry up and nominate a cowboy or gal of your choice for the experience of a lifetime!
It’s called The Great Exchange. You pick ‘em. We’ll send ‘em. Brought to you by The Badger.

The Great Exchange: what a great idea. I would love to see some city
slicker get his high polished shoes and perma-pressed pants dirty.
I’m not sure a hayseed will have to much trouble adjusting to city life other than the noise, people and lack of manners, Im sure its going to be interesting.
Anyway I’m looking forward to this.
Thanks Dean! I’m excited too.
I have a potential candidate, she wants more info. I’ll try to explain.
how do i vote for della?
The public does not vote – only nominates an individual. The selection process will take place at a later date.
Thanks!
Sheri
Wohoo… what a great idea. I once did the same thing. I am a girl from Germany and came to Canada for about 4 month to experience the life on a ranch. Had the best time ever!!!!
